Embedded into Sanofi’s business strategy, CSR drives innovation and contributes to the company’s success. We place the patient at the heart of our CSR strategy. In addition, our commitment to human rights provides the foundation for all our initiatives.

Our CSR strategy is organized in four pillars: Patient, Ethics, People and Planet. It includes six priority topics which have been defined in collaboration with over 100 stakeholders worldwide.

Improving access to diabetes care

Improving access to diabetes care

Sanofi is a leading global player in the fight against diabetes, going beyond conventional approaches with personalized solutions integrated across diagnostics, therapies, devices and services that address patients’ needs.

In 2013, Sanofi Pakistan partnered with RLCC (Rana Liaquat Craftsmen’s Colony) for a Corporate Social Responsibility program, “Kawish Community Service”, which entailed establishment of a dedicated diabetes clinic in the existing Community Health Centre of RLCC, provision of subsidized treatment for people diagnosed with diabetes and regular awareness programs and free of cost screening sessions to educate the community on diabetes and the consequences of poorly managed diabetes.

The program has been successfully running since 2013, providing day in and day out, the less-privileged stratum of the community access to diagnostics facilities and subsided treatment for the lifelong condition i.e. diabetes.

The experience and expertise of RLCC with community healthcare initiatives combined with the support of Sanofi have tremendously benefited the community of Shah Faisal Colony.

Providing Hope to Rare disease patients

Rare Disease

Sanofi Genzyme, the specialty care business unit of Sanofi focuses on rare diseases, multiple sclerosis, and Immunology.

In Pakistan, Gaucher is the most prevalent disease amongst all LSDs (Lysosomal Storage Disorders). According to experts, a number of suspected cases of Gaucher disease in Pakistan is due to intermarriages/ consanguinity.

Sanofi Genzyme remains dedicated to raising awareness about the plight of rare disease patients, amongst the general public and doctors’ community.

In collaboration with the National LSD Core Committee which comprises prominent Healthcare Practitioners in Pakistan, Sanofi Genzyme dedicatedly works towards highlighting the cause of children afflicted with LSDs.

In Pakistan diagnostic facilities/equipment for rare diseases, are non-existent. Sanofi Genzyme facilitates hundreds of patients by providing them free-of-cost diagnostic services by sending Dried Blood spot samples to the labs in India and Austria. Had it not been for the screening, many cases of rare disease would have remained undiagnosed in Pakistan.

Not only does Sanofi Genzyme provide access to absolutely free therapy to some rare disease patients, but also mobilizes patient support groups, government & philanthropists for this noble cause.

Donation for the Nation

Donation for the Nation

In Pakistan, the culture of voluntary and frequent blood donation does not exist, thus resulting in low inventories of blood at blood blanks and hospitals. It is estimated that only 10% of the donors in Pakistan donate blood voluntarily.

Regular blood drives helps promote the practice of blood donation and improves general awareness about the benefits of blood donation.

To promote the practice of regular and voluntary donation, Sanofi Pakistan annually holds blood drive at its Head Office. In collaboration with the Indus Hospital Blood Centre, Sanofi Pakistan a day-long blood camp is held to encourage employees to make blood donation. A pre drive session is held a day prior to the blood camp to allow potential donors to pose queries about blood donation to the representatives of the Indus Hospital Blood Center.

The blood drive is held around the Independence Day celebrations in August.
